    How this is calculated
    1. Hours a week = Σ (people × hours a week each) over all tasks.
    2. Hours freed = Σ (people × hours × % that can be automated).
    3. Cost of one working hour = monthly salary ÷ (working hours a week × 52 ÷ 12).
    4. Yearly cost of manual work = hours a week × 52 × cost of one hour.
    5. Salary cost freed a year = hours freed × 52 × cost of one hour. Freed hours go to better work; nobody has to lose a job for this to pay.
    6. Payback = setup cost ÷ (salary cost freed a month − monthly running cost): 0 with no setup cost; never when the running cost eats the saving. Full-time people freed = hours freed ÷ working hours a week.
    7. Net in the first 12 months = salary cost freed a year − setup cost − 12 × monthly running cost.

Green, amber and red compare each result with the break-even your own numbers imply, never with an outside benchmark. Every starting number is an editable example, not an industry average.

    Questions

    About this calculator

No. The saving shown is the salary cost of hours freed. Most owners move those hours to selling, service and work that was being skipped. The calculator only puts a rupee value on the time.

Ask whether the task follows the same steps every time and starts from information you already have (an order, a date, a form). Reminders, reports and copying data between places usually can; judgement calls usually cannot. It is your estimate, so start low.

It starts at our lowest CRM setup price so you can see a payback. Change it to any quote you have; the monthly cost covers software licences and support.
